West Midlands Synod is one of thirteen within the United Reformed Church, each of which is a key area of relationships through which our local churches find support and fellowship.
There are 93 churches in the West Midlands Synod, which are located in seven pastoral areas across Shropshire, Staffordshire (including the Black Country), Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Birmingham (including the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield and Solihull Metropolitan Borough) and all of Gloucestershire except that covered by the South Glos Local Authority. The image below shows where the pastoral areas are (NB: North and Mid Staffs have combined to make a single pastoral area.) The various committees and meetings of the Synod enable us to share much about our life and mission. Specialist officers serve in areas of safeguarding, property, legal and financial matters as well as children & youth, evangelism, and training. The Moderator serves with pastoral oversight of the whole. For more information about the URC generally visit the national website here |
